Success of satellites and remote working in radiotherapy

27th - 28th September 2018   (GMT+01:00) Europe/London

Day one "Success of satellite radiotherapy centres" has been designed to inform, educate and learn from professionals working in and developing satellite radiotherapy centres and similar models - from the well-established to the currently planned - in both the NHS and private sectors. It will gauge and assess ‘success’ from the more experienced centres and discuss future provision with respect to the new NHS radiotherapy service specification.

Educational aims:

  • To enable knowledge transfer and exchange between well-established satellite centres, newly formed centres and those in current design stages with a focus on clinical, technological and logistic areas of discussion in both the NHS and private sectors, especially in light of new national service specifications
  • To learn from and exchange knowledge between different models of RT service and from different clinical services in both NHS and private sectors
Day two "Remote working in radiotherapy" has been designed to inform, educate, develop and exchange ideas and experience of models of practice for remote working within radiotherapy – drawing from current radiotherapy specific practice and from experience in other sectors such as radiology – both in the NHS and private sectors.

Educational aims:
  • To enable knowledge transfer and exchange between public and private radiotherapy centres working remotely with a focus on governance, technological and practical areas of discussion, especially with regard to radiotherapy networks
  • To learn from and exchange knowledge between different models of radiotherapy service and from different clinical services in both NHS and private sectors
