Welcome to the virtual teaching session video on IGRT tutored by Dr Kevin Franks broadcasted on 19 April 2021.

This exciting hour long lunch time session covered the brief history of IGRT implementation including an update on IGRT in the UK with regards to revised Royal College of Radiologists / Society of Radiographers / Institute of Physic Engineering and Medicine On Target Guidelines due to be published in Spring / Summer 2020. The focus is on lung cancer IGRT with case examples to demonstrate common clinical scenarios.

Dr Kevin Franks

Dr Franks is a Thoracic Consultant Clinical Oncologist and the Clinical Lead for Oncology Research and Innovation at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and an Associate Professor at the University of Leeds. He was a Clinical Research Fellow at Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto from 2005-2007 where, under the co-supervision of Professors David Jaffray and Andrea Bezjak, his research focused on SABR and IGRT. He returned to the UK and started as a consultant in 2009 at the Leeds Cancer Centre. His research interests are in Lung Cancer including; technical radiotherapy, SABR, cancer informatics, quality of life, patient optimization and novel agent/SABR+RT combinations. He was a founding member of the UK SABR consortium, the co-chair of the National Cancer Action Team (NCAT) Image-guided Radiotherapy working group, and is currently the co-chair of the national RCR/ROR/IPEM Image-guided Radiotherapy Working Group who will publishing an updated version of On-Target in Spring/Summer 2021.
