What is the best tool to investigate any rheumatological disorder?

This talk outlines the uses of imaging modalities in the diagnosis and treatment of various rheumatological conditions:
Ultrasound is used on small joints and in cases of synovitis, MRI for spinal inflammation, CT for erosions and calcifications and fusions. DECT for crystal diseases.

Ramy Mansour

Consultant Radiologist, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Dr Ramy Mansour finished a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre Oxford in 2006 and is currently working as a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist at Oxford University Hospitals, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. He has expertise in MSK magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, computed tomography and image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic musculoskeletal interventional procedures. He teaches in national and international courses. He also teaches MSK radiology to Oxford University medical students. Dr Mansour has published articles and abstracts in the medical literature and is regularly asked to peer review articles for national and international journals. He is a member of the European and British Musculoskeletal Societies and also member of the Skeletal Society of Radiology (SSR) and International Skeletal Society (ISS).
