Sophia Anderton has been Head of Publishing at the British Institute of Radiology since 2013, where she is responsible for managing and developing all publishing products and operations. The Institute is a self-publishing society, publishing a mixture of subscription and open access journals. Sophia’s experience in STM (Scientific, Technical and Medical) publishing spans almost 15 years and she previously worked for the Royal Society of Chemistry, specialising in peer review operations, policies and ethics across a large portfolio of journals.
